Veterans Honored by Local Students for Veterans Day at Senior Community

Students to honor over 70 Veterans and their families with ceremony at Dogwood Forest of Gainesville

GAINESVILLE, Ga. (November 10, 2015)– Students from East Hall NJROC and Riverside Military Academy will honor over Veterans and spouses of veterans during a special Veteran’s day ceremony at Dogwood Forest of Gainesville Assisted Living and The Holbrook of Lake Lanier on Wednesday, November 11 at 11:00 a.m.

For the ceremony, East Hall students will present the colors and Riverside’s brass ensemble will perform patriotic songs and bugle calls. This ceremony of honor and memorial will take place outside around the flag pole at Dogwood Forest located at 3315 Thompson Bridge Road. “It is an extreme honor to recognize these residents who have served our country,” said Bill Windsor, executive director of Dogwood Forest and The Holbrook. “These wonderful men and women inspire us daily.”

Over 70 veterans are expected to attend the event. The event is open to the public.
