Resident Spotlight: Blanche Triunfo

Where did you grow up?
Blanche states that she was born on August 26, 1935 in Managua, Nicaragua and grew up in that same area. She grew up the oldest child with 3 sisters and 1 brother.
What are some of your favorite memories from your childhood?
Blanche states that some of her favorite memories from her childhood were various activities that her family would do together as a group like bowling or going to the movies.
What are some of your favorite memories from your adulthood?
Blanche states that some of her favorite memories from adulthood including dating and then getting married to her husband Al Triunfo. They got married on June 14, 1955. They had 3 children 2 girls and 1 boy and she also has 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren that she is very proud of.
Did you have a profession?
Blanche states that she was an executive secretary for a Vice President for General Motors in their Miami office for 32 years. She states that in school she studied to be an executive assistant and loved her work.
Which accomplishment in your life do you feel most proud?
Blanche states that she was most proud of raising 3 wonderful children who have all done very well and have wonderful lives and she has enjoyed watching 6 grandchildren grow up and start living their own lives and now 6 great grandchildren being born and to start growing up.
Is there anything you’ve learned in life that you wish to share with someone just graduating college?
Blanche states that she has learned that having a career is very important and it is important to follow your dream and study in the area that you want to work in so that you can do what you want to do in life.
Is there anything you’ve learned in life that you wish to share with someone just starting a family?
Blanche states that it is very important to really know that you love the person that you are going to marry before you get married so that you can be happy and be able to raise a family together.
What brought you assisted living Dogwood Forest Eagles Landing here in Stockbridge, GA?
Blanche spends the day at Dogwood Forest 5 days a week and she states that she knew that she did not want to stay at home every day without anything to do and so she wanted to be in a place where there would be things to do throughout the day. She states that she has really enjoyed her time at Dogwood Forest with is really enjoying visiting the Primrose School right next to Dogwood Forest’s assisted living community here in Stockbridge, GA. She enjoys spending time with the babies in the nursery. She also loves all of the games that we play including Bingo and Trivial Pursuit.
