Do you have shoes collecting dust in your closet? Bring them to us! Dogwood Forest has joined forces with radio station Victory 91.5 FM in a summer shoe drive campaign. The summer outreach opportunity called Every Sole Counts is shoe drive for Haiti. Haiti was hit in 2010 by a devastating Earthquake. Yet, they are still facing many challenges.
Dogwood Forest is currently collecting shoes of all varieties & conditions at all locations. No shoes will be refused (tennis shoes, loafers, boots, heels, sandals, flip-flops, etc.).
Every Sole Counts Facts:
- Shoes with minimal wear will provide footwear to those in need in Haiti.
- Shoes with moderate/severe wear will be re-purpose through a micro-business initiative to Haitian families who will learn a profitable trade/business to earn income for their families.
- Some of the materials will be used to help build an children’s home in Haiti.
The goal for the project is to collect 25,000 pairs of shoes. The drive will end Wednesday July 29, 2015.
