Dear Residents, Families and Associates,
On April 9, 2020, we wrote to you that Governor Brian P. Kemp signed the Executive Order to Ensure the Safety of Employees and Residents of Nursing Homes and Long-Term Care Facilities. In the letter we reminded you of the community protocols and actions we are currently following. Please note that our Resident Return from Hospital or Other Care Facility protocol should read as follows.

Staying Close with Your Senior Loved Ones During Covid-19
How do you keep in touch with your elderly loved ones without putting them at risk of developing serious complications from the dreaded COVID-19 infection? This can be a tough call but we at Dogwood Forest are doing everything we can to keep our assisted living communities in Dunwoody COVID-free and protect our residents and associates from infection and transmission.
Unfortunately, this means we have to strictly implement social distancing rules and temporarily closing our doors to visitors and non-essential workers. Effective March 12, 2020, we have suspended visits for all individuals with a few exceptions. You can read about the current visitation practices in our assisted living communities in Dunwoody by visiting this link – https://www.dogwoodforest.com/blog/covid-19/.

Antiviral (Covid-19) Protocol for Possible Prevention or Relieving Symptoms and Enjoying a Long and Fruitful Life
Friends, there is so much we don’t know about this virus. And we may not know for years. However, there is a lot of evidence-based protocols that stimulate the immune system, prepare it to fight viruses and raise its ability to withstand an “attack” on the body. Viruses like cancer cells, are always in the body. It’s the ability of your body to fight this with faith that gives you hope.
It is only a matter of time until we find both a short-term and a long-term solution. Viruses have been with us for a long time. There are hundreds, if not millions of viruses that infect or co-host all kinds of organisms, including mammals and can jump from animal to human. Therefore, we need to take COVID-19 seriously and continually monitor these ever changing asexual or some would say non-living entities. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3427559/

COVID-19 Family Letter
Dear Residents, Families and Associates,
We believe our role serving our residents and associates during this season is a critical one. As we watch the continued spread of COVTD-19 throughout Georgia, particularly in the Metro Atlanta area, we have found it necessary to add additional measures to continue to keep COVTD- 19 out of our Communities.
At the present, we do not have any reported COVTD-19 cases amongst our associates or residents. We will continue to maintain compliance with CDC and local health department guidelines including enhanced disinfecting of community spaces, modification of services to promote social distancing, closing our communities to non-essential visitors and workers, pre- shift surveillance of associates, monitoring residents for signs and symptoms of respiratory illness and the provision of personal protective equipment to our associates when providing care and services.

Holbrook Life’s Coronavirus (COVID-19) Preparedness and Response Team
Dear Families, Residents and Associates,
Holbrook Life’s Coronavirus (COVID-19) Preparedness and Response Team has been closely monitoring the quickly evolving information and news regarding the spread of COVID-19. The COVID-19 situation is fluid, and changes occur daily, if not hourly.
Our number one priority has been helping to protect our residents and associates from infection and transmission of COVID-19 and for several weeks we have taken preventative actions to maintain an environment free from the spread of the coronavirus. We moved swiftly to implement additional interventions and resources on top of existing plans and infection control protocols related to preventing the spread of communicable diseases. We have had quarantine protocols for the general flu virus and other communicable diseases for decades. We have “tightened” these guidelines given the rapid spread of the disease and the speculation that it is “airborne”.
